IBO Player setup guide

The complete walkthrough for installing IBO Player and loading your IPTVKemo line — Android, Fire TV Stick, Windows, macOS, LG and Samsung. IBO Player is the only application we support, and it is the only one you need.

Why IBO Player

Of the IPTV applications on the market, IBO Player is the one that turns up on almost every platform and operating system. The interface is tidy, playback is smooth, and the essential features are all present. It is built by a development group who call themselves IBODEV, and their site publishes a direct download link for every supported platform.

It is worth being straight about the trade-offs, because they matter before you start:

What it does well

  • Installs almost anywhere. From Android handsets to Linux desktops, there is a build for it.
  • It is the right answer for non-Android smart TVs. LG WebOS and Samsung Tizen run closed operating systems that most IPTV developers avoid entirely; IBO Player ships native apps in both stores.
  • Playback is stable. Three selectable player engines mean a stream that stutters on one decoder usually runs clean on another.

What it does not do

  • No recording. There is no DVR function of any kind.
  • No multi-screen. One stream at a time — which matches the one-device rule on your IPTVKemo subscription anyway.
  • Remote playlist activation. Credentials are entered on the IBO Player website rather than in the app, and their cloud pushes them to your device. Convenient, but it depends on their API being reachable.
  • It is paid. A short five-day evaluation window, then a small one-off licence fee to the developer.
The short version

Five steps from zero to live TV

If you have set up an IPTV app before, this is all you need. Device-specific detail follows underneath.

  1. Install IBO Player on your device

Download the build that matches your hardware, install it, and open the app once so it generates your MAC address and Device Key.

  2. Find your MAC address and Device Key

Open the app, select the person icon on the main dashboard, and read the Device Info panel in the top-left corner.

  3. Log in to the IBO Player playlist portal

On the IBO Player website choose Manage Playlist and sign in with the MAC address and Device Key you just noted.

  4. Add the IPTVKemo line

Choose Add XC Playlist, enter the host, username and password we sent you, name the playlist and save.

  5. Refresh the app

Close and reopen IBO Player, or press Data Refresh on the dashboard. The full channel grid and VOD library load within a minute.

Installing on Android phones, tablets and TV boxes

This is the easiest platform, because you have a browser and can download the installer directly.

  1. Get the installation file from the IBO Player official website or from the download link we send with your credentials.
  2. Android warns you that the file came from outside the Play Store. It is safe — choose Download Anyway.
  3. Open the downloaded file.
  4. Tap Install.
  5. Open the app once it finishes installing.
  6. An introductory screen explains what happens next. Tap OK — we cover playlist setup below.
  7. The app is loaded and ready.

Installing on Windows

Note the requirements: Windows 10 or newer, and the published installer is 64-bit only.

  1. Download the Windows installer from IBODEV or from our mirror.
  2. Windows security will stop the installation because the file did not come from the Microsoft Store. Click More Info.
  3. Click Run Anyway.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Tick the desktop-icon box if you want one, then Next.
  6. Click Install.
  7. Click Finish to launch IBO Player.

Installing on Amazon Fire TV Stick

The Fire Stick needs a sideloading helper first. Budget five minutes.

  1. From the Fire TV home screen, move to the magnifier icon, drop down into the search field and press OK.
  2. Search for Downloader — typing D usually surfaces it as the first suggestion. Select it.
  3. Choose the app to start installing it.
  4. Confirm with Download.
  5. Grant media access when prompted — click Allow.
  6. Open Downloader, move to the URL field above the yellow Go button and press OK.
  7. Enter the official Downloader code for the IBO Player Android build: 511693, then press Go.
  8. The download starts from the official site. Leave it alone until it finishes.
  9. Wait for the progress bar.
  10. Amazon blocks the install because the file is not from its store. Choose Settings.
  11. Open Install Unknown Apps. If you cannot see it, go to About and press OK seven times to reveal Developer Options, then come back.
  12. Select Downloader and press OK so the toggle flips to ON.
  13. Return and run the install — a couple of Next and OK presses.
  14. Click OK on the first-run message.
  15. The app is ready.

Installing on macOS

  1. Download the macOS build from the IBO Player download section.
  2. Open the file and drag the icon into your Applications folder.
  3. After about ten seconds it is installed. Open Launchpad and click the icon.
  4. macOS refuses the first launch because the app came from outside the App Store. That is expected.
  5. Click the Apple menu, open System Settings, scroll to Privacy & Security, then scroll down on the right to the security notice about IBO Player. Click Open Anyway.
  6. Confirm Open Anyway. The choice is permanent; later launches are instant.
  7. The application is ready to use.

Installing on LG and Samsung televisions

Non-Android smart TVs are the hardest hardware in IPTV, which is exactly why IBO Player is our recommendation. The example below is LG WebOS; Samsung Tizen and Toshiba follow the same shape.

  1. Open the LG Content Store (Samsung: the Apps store on the Tizen home bar).
  2. Click the magnifier icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Type IBO Player.
  4. Pick the correct result. You will see similarly named variants — ignore them and select the one named exactly “Ibo Player”.
  5. Click Install.
  6. Select Launch.
  7. A welcome message appears on first run. Now add your playlist using the section below.

Adding your IPTVKemo line to IBO Player

IBO Player uses remote playlist activation. You enter your credentials on the IBO Player website, save them, and their cloud forwards the details to the app on your television.

  1. On the IBO Player website, click Manage Playlist in the top menu.
  2. The form asks for your device MAC Address and Device Key.
  3. To find them, open the app on your streaming device and click the person icon on the main dashboard.
  4. Device Info in the top-left panel contains both values. Copy them into the form and log in.
  5. You are now inside playlist management, where your IPTVKemo account is added.

Option A — Add XC Playlist (recommended)

This is the method we recommend, because it is the format your IPTVKemo credentials arrive in.

  • Host — the server address from your welcome message.
  • Username and Password — exactly as sent, including case.
  • Playlist name — anything you like; “IPTVKemo” is fine.

Option B — Add Playlist (M3U line)

If all you were given is a single long streaming line, use this instead.

  • Playlist name — a label of your choosing.
  • Playlist URL — the full M3U link supplied by your service admin.
  • XMLTV EPG URL — optional. Leave it blank and IBO Player pulls the programme guide from the playlist itself.
  • Protect this playlist — tick it to set a PIN on the list.

Click Save. Back on your device, press Data Refresh or restart the app and the grid appears.

Fixing the cramped Live TV layout

By default the Live TV section is set to a style where channel names run under the preview window and the EPG looks disorganised. One setting fixes it.

  1. From the IBO Player dashboard, click the screen icon next to the Wi-Fi sign.
  2. You are now in Live Screen Style. The default is Malai. Change it to Thai and save.
  3. Channel names now have room and the mini preview and programme guide line up correctly.
  4. Press the left arrow on your remote (or the back gesture on a touch device) to bring the category column back when you need it.

Favourites, search and the VOD section

  • Add a favourite: long-press a channel in the list, choose ADD, and a heart appears next to its name. The Favourites folder sits at the top of the category column.
  • Search: the magnifier in the bottom-left of the Live TV overview searches every category at once. It matches specific terms, so a wrong combination returns nothing.
  • Movies and Series: the VOD section lists newest additions first. Hold OK on any title to favourite it. The palette icon switches between Modern and Normal themes, the down arrow sorts by date, rating or name, and the magnifier searches.

The settings worth knowing

  • Parental Control — set a PIN so children cannot open the app. The factory code is 0000 even if you never set it; forget your own and you can reset it from the IBO Player portal.
  • Manage Categories — hide countries you never watch. On a 16,000-channel grid this is the single most useful setting in the app.
  • Live TV Player / VOD Player — switch the decoding engine between Android Player, EXO Player and VLC. If one channel stutters, try another engine before opening a ticket.
  • Clear Cache — the standard fix for a broken EPG or corrupted artwork.
  • Content Strategy — load everything at launch, or load each section on demand. On slower boxes, on-demand loading feels much faster.
  • Auto Boot on Start — open IBO Player automatically when the device powers on.
  • Language — the interface supports sixteen languages.
  • More Options — seven advanced toggles including stream URL redirection checking, disabling the EPG, honouring the stream URL extension, forcing M3U handling, runtime loading for movies and series, and UTF-8 decoding for playlists that need it.

Still stuck? Send a photo of the screen to our desk on WhatsApp. We set up IBO Player on every supported device daily and will usually spot the problem in one message. Start at the contact page, or read the FAQ first. Not a customer yet? The introductory month is on the pricing page.

App questions

IBO Player, answered

Android phones, Android tablets, Android TV boxes, Amazon Fire TV Stick, Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit), macOS, and LG WebOS and Samsung Tizen televisions. The developer also publishes builds for several Linux platforms.

No. IBO Player has no recording function, and that is the clearest gap in the app. Catch-up and time-shift on supported channels cover most of what recording would have been used for.

The app gives you a short five-day evaluation window, after which the developer asks for a one-off licence fee — roughly 5 euros for a year or 10 euros for lifetime. That payment goes to IBODEV, not to IPTVKemo, and it is separate from your subscription.

No. IBO Player has no multi-screen mode, and an IPTVKemo subscription authorises one device and one connection anyway. A second television needs a second subscription.

Switch the Live Screen Style from Malai to Thai in the app dashboard. It is a one-click fix that gives channel names more room and lines the EPG up properly. Step seven of this guide shows exactly where the toggle is.
